Neem Karoli Baba

Neem Karoli Baba also known as Maharaj-ji, was born to a Brahmin family in Akbarpur village of Firozabad district in Uttar Pradesh.

Neem Karoli Baba left home at a young age to wander as a sadhu throughout India.

The Kainchi Dham Ashram was built in 1964 as per Neem Karoli Baba's instructions on the Nainital-Almora road.

Neem Karoli Baba Established at least 108 temples, including one in Lucknow and an Ashram in Texas, US.

Ram Dass gave LSD to Neem Karoli Baba, but it seemed to have no psychotropic effect on him.

In the late 60s, westerners were drawn to Neem Karoli Baba through books authored by Baba Ram Dass.

Neem Karoli Baba chose Vrindavan for his Samadhi and passed away on September 10, 1973.
